Not eating breakfast and skipping snacks throughout the day causes your metabolism to hibernate and not work efficiently. The result of this can be weight gain and poor health. Often when people eat breakfast or snack they reach for foods that are high in sugar and will send them on a blood sugar roller coaster. Items such as fruit, breads, cereals, crackers and granola bars are all foods that increase hunger, fat storage, and cravings. Protein Bars that are sold in stores tend to be full of processed ingredients, artificial sweeteners, soy protein, trans fat, gluten, sugary syrups and preservatives. Most of the time they contain no fiber, are very high in sugar and have very few health promoting ingredients. The ingredient list is extensive and some are very hazardous to our health. Even the healthiest protein snacks on the market lack the benefit of fibre and healthy fats like MCT’s and Omega-3. They also aren’t balanced to create satisfaction between meals; often they will increase cravings and hunger.

Over the last 6 years I have been employed in the nutrition and weight loss industry and dealt with many clients with goals of obtaining optimal health and weight loss. I became inspired to make these protein snacks based on the fact that people do not make the time to snack or eat breakfast due to lack of creativity and time.
There are a small handful of snacks that are available for purchase that have a balanced amount of protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats. The types of snacks that do exist tend to exclude any healthy vitamins and nutrients such as dietary fibre, vitamins, minerals and omega-3’s. If I didn’t see the point in buying these packaged snacks for myself, I sure would not recommend them to any of my clients.
Jobs are more demanding and households are busier; therefore it is difficult to find the time to make our health a priority. Protein is critical for every single child and adult because it is the building block of all functions in the body. Energy, focus, mood and metabolism can all be effected when we are deficient in all the essential amino acids that protein provides.
My education and experience led me to the creation of these nutrient dense snacks because they are packed full of nutrients and provide the much needed fuel most people seem to lack. After clients were expressing concerns with quick and tasty snack foods, I realized there were very few pre-packaged items I would approve for them to eat. These balanced bites are a part of my healthy eating regimen and something I am excited to share with other health conscious individuals.

Whole foods that have been a part of the human diet for centuries have been demonized by the media and powerful food industries that are causing us to be more obese and experience inflammatory illnesses. Genetically modified crops such as soy, corn and wheat are dominating our food supply and promoting disease and increased waistlines. The more we can avoid these food items and eat traditionally wholesome foods, we will have a higher chance of maintaining our health.
